Important Charger Safety Guidelines

  • ALWAYS use the manufacturer’s supplied charger to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • DO NOT use fast chargers or high-output wall adapters.

Power Specification Warning

Educator devices accept a maximum input of 5V / 2.5A.

Using chargers with higher voltage or current outputs will reduce equipment lifespan and may cause permanent damage to the battery, charging components, or collar.

Battery Care & Best Practices

⚡ Charging

  • Avoid 0%: Top up regularly; don’t let it drain completely.
  • Unplug at 100%: Remove from charger once full to prevent heat damage.
  • Original charger only: Always use the manufacturer-approved charger.
  • Charge at room temp: Charge indoors (15–25°C) on hard surfaces.

🌡️ Usage & Climate

  • Avoid heat: Never leave the device in hot cars or direct sun.
  • Top off frequently: Short, frequent charges stress the battery less than deep cycles.

📦 Storage

  • Store at 50%: Keep at half-charge for long-term storage.
  • Cool & dry: Store indoors away from damp areas, frost, and metal objects.

Getting a Good Contact with Your Collar

💡 Step 1: Test Your E-Collar at Home

Always test the device away from your dog first over 5–10 minutes:

  • With Test Light: Ensure it fits firmly onto both contact points so the wire completes the connection. Test across levels to watch the bulb illuminate.
  • With Your Palm: Start on a low setting (10–15) and gradually increase levels as comfortable.

✅ Step 2: Troubleshooting Poor Response

If the collar tests fine on your hand or light but your dog isn’t responding, it is usually due to poor skin contact or high drive masking the stimulation.

⛔ Do NOT Simply Turn Up the Power

Never increase stimulation levels to force a response. Always check and adjust physical contact first!

📋 Best Practices for Ideal Contact

🪮 Brush First: Thoroughly brush out undercoat and dead hair around the neck area.
✂️ Part the Fur: Part hair carefully so contact points touch skin directly. Hair between probes prevents connection.
✌️ Both Probes Must Touch: Both contact points must sit flush against skin to complete the circuit.
📐 Ensure Snug Fit: If the collar slides around when your dog moves, it’s too loose.
↗️ Rotate Positions: Rotate placement regularly (e.g., top or side of neck) to keep contact consistent and comfortable.
⚙️ Consider Alternative Points: For long or dense fur, swap to specialized Educator Contact Points (CPAD-11).
