Bought these to teach recall to my over excited, reactive, German shepherd crossed Malinois. The mini educator is an amazing piece of equipment, is extremely well built and extraordinary quality. I have been watching videos on how to condition my dog, slowly does it. We are making lots of progress at an stimulation level that I can’t feel even on my face. He is responding well, no stress, quite happy to be wearing the collar, which is really light weight.
The shipping was fast, and well packed.
This is a fantastic humanly tool if use properly, as everything else it can be misused, but a flat collar could cause actual harm if misused.

Bought this collar in desparation to train my flat-coat with a high prey-drive and bad recall. She was nearly 5 so I wasn’t sure it would work. I watched Larry from Packmaster and took it really slowly. Spent 2/3 months using it in the garden, then out for walks on a training lead. Finally I felt confident enough to start to let her off the lead in places where previously she’d have let me down. It really, really works! Occasionally she’ll chase off after a deer/squirrel but will come back to me in a few minutes rather than hours. At the start of a walk I have to remind her what the tingle means, as she forgets, I use the lowest setting possible. I’d fully recommend this collar, I wish I’d had it a couple of years ago.

I have ordered a few things from ecollars now, and I must say I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The first time I ordered the mini educator I ordered an extra long set of contact points, the guys at ecollars called me and advised me that it came with that size and asked if I still wanted the extra set, which I didn’t require so they amended my order, The order came the next day! Went out their way to ensure I wasn’t wasting time or money. The second time I contacted them was to ask about the 2 dog receiver, the guys emailed me back and gave me a wealth of information and all the links I required for easy set up! My youngest dog (5yo) suddenly started following a scent out of my local park and across a busy urban road despite what I thought was excellent recall on my whistle. Having looked online I’m trying an ecollar since it’s not about punishment but “getting their attention” on the lowest setting. Many trainers online recommend the mini educator and I’ve been very pleased with the unit. The accessories are helpful and I’ve realised my older “hunting” dog would benefit from a better recall so ordered a second collar. I’m very impressed with the prompt service.

I’m a trainer and never considered an ecollar before but I have a rescue dog who lunges and ultimately runs at traffic if she gets the chance and is quite explosive in her reactions. I’ve been training her for months and got about 80% of the way, but accepted I need something more powerful to stop this dangerous habit. I am actually really pleased with the level of subtlety achievable, it is highly adjustable and I am taking specific sessions with a trainer to condition her properly. I have applied it to my own neck and I don’t find a 12 painful, the dog mostly responds to a 4, out of 100. We make sure that we do lots of positive stuff too to channel her drive balance her life out. She is improving lots and we are on our way to a much safer and happier existence, leaving the bad habits in the past. I am glad I decided to be more open minded, this could really change my training abilities as a primarily dog centred trainer. With dogs who have had years to establish unhelpful behaviours, I think it is really worth pursuing this with a decent trainer who cares about dogs and isn’t going to be too harsh with it.
